The set includes the original 1930s artist-illustrated box; 48 individual flowers in four Britains wax packets; a 6-piece garden bed that perfectly fits together; a 2-page insert titled, MINIATURE GARDENING FLOWER BEDS & ACCESSORIES. The new style of box appearing in 1930 featured illustrated labels and different box sizes and colors. The MINIATURE GARDENING box is graced with a drawing of a blooming garden on a flower covered box. Box corners are strong; no repairs; a clean slit at the bottom is almost invisible. The MINIATURE GARDENING #16 M. Set was Britains third major civilian series and was as extensive and popular as the Zoo. According to James Opie, few 1930 garden collections survived with intact flowers or with any flowers at all as owners were urged to twist the soft alloy blooms into realistic shapes. Britains hallmark is on the reverse side of the garden pieces.
