JOHILLCO Brittania Railway set boxed VERY RARE!! All Original, figures 9++/10 ; box 7/10. Heres an interesting and a very rare piece of toy history from Johillco John Hill & Co, an early competitor of Britains, whos early manufacturing was in Islington London but later, after the war, moved to Burnley. This set is particularly hard to find boxed. Individual pieces sometimes but rarely appear.

I believe its a pre-war set. The Britannia Railway Set is Made in England By British Labour! And they did a great job! The models are all incredibly detailed.

I cant find a complete set to compare this with, but looking at the box lid graphic, there may be a couple missing Im not sure if passengers were included or just station staff. There are 10 pieces with this set all look to be in perfect condition.

It's been suggested that the children piece is a Taylor and Barrett piece. The box is missing one lid end piece and theres a tear on one side and one corner. The base of the set is intact albeit a bit misshapen now. What I presume is the original string is wound at various points within the and what I presume is the original wrapping is also present.

So, all in all some superb as new models in a decent box. Not something youll see available often!
