Vintage Britains Highlanders Set No. 51 - Boxed metal Toy Soldiers with Mounted Officer (Hexagon Illustrated Box). A vintage boxed set of Britains Highlanders, Set No.

51, dating from approx the late 1940s to early 1950s. The set includes Highland infantry figures together with a mounted officer, presented in the original Britains hexagon illustrated lid box.

The infantry figures are soldiers in Highland dress with red tunics, black kilts, white helmets and rifles. The mounted officer is a metal figure riding on an early Britains plastic horse, typical of the transition period when Britains began introducing plastic horses while still producing metal figures. All figures remain tied to the original backing card, suggesting the set has never been removed from its packaging.

The original interior card insert is present, and the box features the desirable Britains hexagon picture pattern lid used on late pre-war and early post-war toy soldier boxes.
