The metal figures were made in Great Britain by the Britains company. There is a picture of several versions of this set in Norman Joplin's excellent reference book, Britains Civilian Toy Figures , on pages 254 and 255. In most of the little square compartments there would be multiple figures. This set contains about 36 metal figures. It also has 12 little plastic figures that I think were made by Slaters, and called Huminiatures. Of the metal Britains, there are 4 mounted figures for the fox hunt, 2 fox hunt dogs and 1 fox.

6 geese, 5 ducks, 4 farm people, 3 train staff, 7 passengers, 2 motorcycles, a big wicker basket, and a green luggage cart. I'm not sure what scale these are. The box references "00", but they're real small. The Joplin book shows these display boxes with a large illustrated cardboard standup, but that is missing from this set. Please see my other auctions for vintage Marklin cannon, Heyde metal animal figures and nippes, Vienna Bronze figures, other vintage toys, and out of print books on vintage toys.

States for New York that's 8% - yikes! I use lots of bubble wrap and peanuts and good boxes. In a group of multiple pieces each item is wrapped individually.

I use a loupe to examine the toys while I'm listing them and I try and mention the significant condition issues I see. I leave feedback so please do the same. If there is any problem with the item contact me first before leaving feedback, and well work it out. The item "Rare Britains Retail Display Box No.
