Britains steel helmeted military band

  

Britains rare hollowcast Steel Helmeted Military Mounted Band. This is the rarest set of Britains that I have had the pleasure of owning. All pieces were stripped and repainted by myself.

It became an important project and lasted on and off for over a year. Colours and details were accurately as possible followed. When completed was my pride and joy. All figures are original Britains and each one is branded. Britains only produced a handful of these figures and production was around 1940.

The set had no catalogue number. About then Britains switched from toy soldiers to "real war work" and the set was not re-issued after WWII. Make up of the band is kettle drummer, three cornets, one bass tuba, two trombones, one fife, one cymbals, one bugle, one bassoon and one clarinet. Making in all twelve pieces.
